Quality of the Learning Environment
High-Quality Learning within a British-Curriculum School
The British School of Bucharest is a British-Curriculum school located to the north of Bucharest. Our campus extends over a splendid area of over 2 hectares, where trees and flowers surround the school buildings and the sports fields. The British School of Bucharest offers a wealth of opportunities for learning in superbly resourced classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, dedicated libraries for Primary and Secondary students and outstanding outdoor spaces. This exceptional environment is home to state of the art educational, sporting and artistic facilities. We continue to invest in the latest technology, where appropriate, to bring real-life learning experiences and opportunities for personal growth. Key concepts are presented in ways that enable visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners, to grasp them.
Through the National Curriculum for England, our students are exposed to many innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) opportunities. These provide invaluable practical experiences that nourish the skills of creativity, flexibility and collaboration, and help our students prepare for the future workplace (even for jobs that may not currently exist).
The school’s loyal and experienced native English-speaking teachers, working within a British-Curriculum school, plan practical, high-quality and child-centred lessons, focused on active learning where a culture of mutual respect and support is valued together with high achievement.
A diverse and engaging co-curricular programme
The scope of co-curricular activities (CCAs) - the After-school Club Programme - throughout the school is truly impressive. CCAs give our students access to many opportunities to help them develop their skills and abilities.
Children can choose from an extensive range of approximetley 200 high-quality CCAs that allows them to try new sports, attend academic extension classes (such as language learning) and pursue many interests or service opportunities which may, in time, develop into lifelong passions.
The majority of CCAs take place within the campus in our impressive facilities, but for those that require children to go outside the campus, the children are always accompanied by a Teaching Assistant and safe transport is provided.
